Rules for Life

• If their behavior is not going to be cute when they are an adult dog, it is not cute now as a puppy!
• All four on the floor; no jumping on people, no jumping on furniture.
• LEAVE IT!  Teaching this command so well that you can lay a steak in front of your dog and have the confidence they won't touch it.  (This command can be a lifesaver if something poisonous or harmful is dropped or within reach of your dog.)
• Sit to be seen.
• Crate Train
• Stop talking so much, give simple commands only once, and follow through.  Train your dog to hand signals as well as voice commands.
• Never let the dog go through a doorway first, always make them wait for a simple command or gesture.
• Connect with your dog using the leash and collar.  Exemplary leash manners are a must, keep working with them on a 4' leash.
• Stop entertaining your dog with other dogs.  Be the buddy your dog needs.
• Be responsible for your dogs nails, it is not the groomers job to keep your dogs nails at a healthy length.  For proper foot and joint health nails should be trimmed every 7-10 days.
